Brands
Brands is the page where you manage the brands linked to products in the catalog. A brand does not create stock and does not change physical warehouse flows, but it helps with organization, filtering, imports, catalog synchronization, and reporting.
Opening The Page
Section titled “Opening The Page”To manage brands, open Catalog → Brands.
The page is visible only to users who have permission to view product brands. Create and delete actions appear separately, depending on the user’s permissions.
Brand List
Section titled “Brand List”The list shows the existing brands for the current company.
For each brand, you can see:
- the brand name;
- the delete action, if the user has the required permission.
The list is paginated. You can change the number of records shown per page, and the application keeps the local preference for this page.
Searching For A Brand
Section titled “Searching For A Brand”Use the Search brand filter to find a brand quickly by name.
The search is applied automatically after text is entered. The Reset button clears the filter and reloads the full list.
Creating A Brand
Section titled “Creating A Brand”To create a brand:
- Click Add brand.
- Fill in the Brand name field.
- Click Add.
Putaway WMS saves the brand for the company of the authenticated user. The client is not entered or sent manually from the form.
When creating a brand, the system checks that:
- the brand name is completed;
- the name has the accepted length;
- the same brand does not already exist for the current company, regardless of uppercase or lowercase letters;
- the brand limit allowed by the current plan is not exceeded.
Using Brands On Products
Section titled “Using Brands On Products”The brand is selected in Products when creating or editing a product. In the product list, the brand can be used for filtering and for bulk actions such as adding a brand, changing a brand, or removing a brand.
The brand can also be used in Import Products. If the file contains a new brand, Putaway WMS can create it automatically, but it counts toward the current plan limit.
In catalog synchronization flows, such as MerchantPro Catalog Sync, brands help keep the same structure between the external store and the WMS catalog.
Deleting A Brand
Section titled “Deleting A Brand”To delete a brand, use the delete action in the list and confirm the dialog.
Deletion is allowed only if the brand is not used by products. If products are linked to the brand, Putaway WMS rejects the deletion and shows a message that the brand is used by products.
To remove a used brand:
- Open Products.
- Filter products by that brand.
- Remove or change the brand on the products.
- Return to Brands and retry the deletion.
What The Brands Page Does Not Do
Section titled “What The Brands Page Does Not Do”The Brands page does not:
- create products;
- import stock;
- change suppliers, categories, or measurement units;
- update existing documents;
- automatically modify already created products, except through actions made from the Products page.
- Create brands before large imports or catalog synchronization flows.
- Use the same name as in the internal catalog and in the connected store.
- Avoid duplicates with spelling differences, spaces, or internal suffixes.
- Do not delete a brand until all products have been moved to the correct brand or have no brand.
- Check the plan limit before imports that may create many new brands.
