Boxes
Boxes are handling units for small products, grouped products, or products received together. Each box has its own code and printable label.
Use a box when you want to track its contents as a separate physical object, not only as loose products in a location.
What You See On The Page
Section titled “What You See On The Page”The Boxes page displays cards with:
- box code;
- status: Empty, Open, or Sealed;
- print and delete actions, where allowed.
Selecting the card copies the box code. This is useful when you need to search for the code in another screen or in logs.
Creating Boxes
Section titled “Creating Boxes”- Open Handling units → Boxes.
- Press Add.
- Putaway WMS creates a new box and assigns a code.
- Print the box label.
- Attach the label to the physical box.
If previously deleted boxes exist, Putaway WMS may show a restore window. Restore only if that physical box can be reused with the same code.
Printing Labels
Section titled “Printing Labels”For one box, use the print button on its card.
For multiple boxes, use Print multiple labels, select the boxes, and confirm printing.
The label contains the box code and a QR code. Attach it to the physical box before operators use it in the warehouse.
How Boxes Are Used In Operations
Section titled “How Boxes Are Used In Operations”A box can be:
- scanned directly into a receiving location;
- placed inside a pallet or container;
- selected as the destination for scanned products;
- moved together with the products inside it;
- sealed and unsealed in flows that allow these actions.
A box cannot contain another box, pallet, or container.
- Use a physical box only after it has a scan label.
- Do not reuse one box label on another box.
- A box can be deleted only when it is empty.
- If a box is inside a pallet or container, follow it in the operational flow or in Handling unit logs.
