Stock
Stock shows the current quantities in Putaway WMS by product, warehouse, and global total. Use this report when you need to quickly check what stock exists, how much is available to sell, how much is reserved, how much is in quarantine, and what value the stock has in the reporting currency.
This page is for visibility and analysis. It does not move, receive, or correct stock. Corrections must be made through the correct operational flows, such as Goods receiving, Putaway, Transfer, Inventory adjustments, or inventory counting.
Opening the Stock page
Section titled “Opening the Stock page”Open Stock from the Inventory menu.
The page is available to users who have permission for the stock report. If the permission is missing, the page should not be used as a verification source for that user.
When opened, Putaway WMS loads the stock table with pagination. If there are multiple warehouses, the table can show separate columns for each warehouse and one total column across all warehouses.
What the report shows
Section titled “What the report shows”Each row represents one catalog product, with:
- product name;
- brand, if available;
- SKU;
- stock metrics by warehouse;
- global total across all warehouses, when displayed.
Parent products are not displayed as stock rows. Stock is tracked on products that can have their own quantities.
Stock metrics
Section titled “Stock metrics”The report can show the following metrics:
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Total stock | Sellable stock, quarantine stock, and stock temporarily blocked in INVENTORY-MISSING. INVENTORY-SURPLUS is not included. |
| Missing | Products temporarily moved into INVENTORY-MISSING. This stock exists in the system and is included in total stock, but it is not available to sell until reconciliation or adjustment. |
| Sellable stock | Good stock tracked in the system before reservations and temporary blocks are deducted. |
| Quarantine stock | Damaged stock or stock quarantined for other reasons. |
| Reserved stock | Stock blocked for customer orders, supplier returns, or other operational reasons. |
| Available to sell | Sellable stock minus reserved stock and minus stock blocked in INVENTORY-MISSING. |
| Ordered | Stock ordered from suppliers but not yet delivered. |
For Total stock, Missing, Sellable stock, and Quarantine stock, the report also shows the financial value when cost and currency data are available.
Filters
Section titled “Filters”Filters are available from the Filters panel. You can filter by:
- SKU: searches products by SKU.
- Brand: limits the report to products from the selected brand.
- Supplier: limits the list to products linked to the selected supplier.
- Supplier stock: appears after selecting a supplier and controls how quantities are calculated.
- Stock status: all products, products with stock, or products without stock.
- Stock metrics columns: controls which metrics are visible in the table.
- Warehouses to display: controls which warehouses are included and whether the total across all warehouses is displayed.
The Reset button clears filters, reselects the standard metrics, and reloads the report.
Supplier filter
Section titled “Supplier filter”The Supplier filter has two modes:
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Stock from all suppliers | Shows products associated with the selected supplier, but stock metrics are still calculated from the product’s total stock, regardless of which supplier the goods came from. |
| Stock from current supplier | Shows products associated with the selected supplier and calculates metrics only from stock, reservations, and supplier purchase orders linked to that supplier. |
Use Stock from current supplier when you need to know exactly how much quantity came from a specific supplier.
Warehouses and global total
Section titled “Warehouses and global total”If only one warehouse is available, the report shows that warehouse’s metrics directly and does not show a separate global total column.
If multiple warehouses are available, the report can show:
- columns for each selected warehouse;
- the All warehouses column, which represents the global total;
- only the global total, if individual warehouses are removed from the display filter.
Warehouse columns respect user access. A warehouse the user cannot access does not appear in the report.
Stock status
Section titled “Stock status”The Stock status filter has three options:
| Option | What it includes |
|---|---|
| All products | Products from the catalog that match the other filters. |
| In stock | Products with total stock greater than zero. |
| Out of stock | Products with total stock equal to or below zero. |
When Stock from current supplier is active, the status is based on positive physical stock for the selected supplier.
How to use it
Section titled “How to use it”- Open Stock from the Inventory menu.
- If needed, open the Filters panel.
- Search the product by SKU or filter by Brand.
- For supplier analysis, select Supplier and choose the supplier stock calculation mode.
- Choose the warehouses and global total that should be displayed.
- Select the required metrics from Stock metrics columns.
- Check Available to sell, Reserved, Quarantine, and Missing before making an operational decision.
For easier reading, you can change the table size from the selector at the top of the page.
Interpreting differences
Section titled “Interpreting differences”If a product has total stock but no available-to-sell quantity, check:
- whether stock is reserved for orders;
- whether stock is in
INVENTORY-MISSING; - whether stock is in quarantine;
- whether the product is still in receiving, putaway, or document processing.
If the report shows ordered supplier stock, that quantity represents supply in progress, not physical stock available in the warehouse.
If financial values are zero, check whether lots or stock entries have costs and currency configured. The report shows value only from data already available in WMS.
- The Stock report does not modify stock.
- Total stock must not be treated as available stock.
- Quarantine stock must not be sold until it is released through the correct flow.
- Reserved stock must not be manually promised to other orders.
- Products in
INVENTORY-MISSINGmust be investigated through inventory counting, Traceability, and Stock history. - If the difference is real and there is no operational flow explaining it, the correction is made in a controlled way through Inventory adjustments.
