Containers
Containers are handling units for grouping goods inside a larger carrier. A container can contain products directly or boxes.
The container has its own code and can be tracked separately in warehouse operations.
What You See On The Page
Section titled “What You See On The Page”The Containers page displays cards with:
- container code;
- status: Empty, Open, or Sealed;
- print and delete actions, where allowed.
Selecting the card copies the container code.
Creating Containers
Section titled “Creating Containers”- Open Handling units → Containers.
- Press Add.
- Putaway WMS creates the container and assigns a code.
- Print the label.
- Attach the label to the physical container.
If previously deleted containers exist, Putaway WMS may suggest restoring them. Restore only if that code can be used again for the correct physical unit.
Printing Labels
Section titled “Printing Labels”For one container, use the print button on its card.
For multiple containers, use Print multiple labels, select the containers, and confirm printing.
How Containers Are Used
Section titled “How Containers Are Used”A container can be:
- scanned directly into a receiving location;
- used as a destination for products;
- used as a carrier for boxes;
- moved as one unit between locations;
- sealed and unsealed in flows that allow these actions.
A container is not placed inside a pallet, another container, or a box.
In receiving, a container cannot be sealed if it has empty boxes inside or if the units inside contain products with different conditions.
- The container code must match the physical container.
- Do not create containers in advance without a clear operational need.
- A container can be deleted only when it is empty.
- If a container is sealed, do not change the products inside it until it is unsealed.
- For action history, check Handling unit logs.
